Barnhart, 78, of Stoystown, died July 17, 1984, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born June 16, 1906, in Listie, son of Charles W. and Mary Ellen (North) Barnhart. Preceded in death by parents, two sisters and one brother. Survived by wife, the former Fern Fulton, whom he married June 24, 1928. Also survived by these children: Mrs. David (Joan) Zimmerman and D. Larry, married to the former Marlene Rexroth, both of Stoystown; Mrs. William (Norman) Pile of Okemos, Mich.; and D. Lynn, married to the former Karen Shaffer of Williamsport; also 11 grandchildren; and sister, Laura Gogley of Baltimore, Md. Retired Stoystown postmaster, having served 28 years. Former Stoystown area school teacher and National Youth Administrator for Somerset County. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Stoystown, where he served as secretary, deacon and elder. Member of Stoystown Lions Club, Somerset Lodge No. 358 F and AM, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Harrisburg, Pa.; Jaffa Temple, Altoona; National Association of Postmasters, Somerset County Postmasters Association. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Remains will be moved to St. Paul's UCC to lie in state from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Jeffrey A. Welsh officiating. Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
