    Karen S. Barnhart, 68, Stoystown, died July 15, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center. Born
  Jan. 3, 1939, in Hooversville, a daughter of the late Dwight ÒKekiÓ and Tillie (Bohn)
  Shaffer. Survived by her husband of 48 years, David Lynn Barnhart; daughter, Susan
  Buchanan, married to Terry, Stoystown; son, Dr. Jonathan Barnhart, Johnstown; grand-
  children, Parker, Nicole, Jonathan and Alexandra. Brother of Daniel Shaffer, married to
  the former Ann Hadesty, Everett. Graduate of Forbes High School and Lock Haven State
  College. She was a teacher with the South Williamsport Area School District and North
  Star School District. Member of the Stoystown Charge of the United Church of Christ where
  she sang in the choir, and the Stoyestown Area Historical Society. She enjoyed playing
  cards and the piano. She sang, sewed and enjoyed spending time with her children and
  grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
  p.m. Tuesday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Additional viewing will be held from
  10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Stoystown United Church of
  Christ. The Rev. John Emig officiating. Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery. Memorial
  contributions may be given to the church of your choice or to the Stoyestown Area
