Barnick, 74, of East Pitt Street, Jennerstown, formerly of Boswell RD, died Feb. 19, 2001 at his home. Born Aug. 15, 1926, in Jenner Township, son of Steve and Mary (Nagy) Barnick. Preceded in death by parents, sister Pauline Hemminger and brother George. Survived by wife, former Annabelle Rager; sons Keith E., married to the former Bobbie J. Ripjack, Boswell RD, and Alan J. married to the former Michele M. Kowalczyk of Boswell; five grandchildren, Heather Stek, Thomas, Andrew, Amy and Chris Barnick, two great-granddaughters Taylor and Bryn Stek, brother John L., married to the former Betty Jane Adams, Boswell RD, sister Minnie M., married to Robert J. West, Romeo, Michigan; sister-in-law Marjory Barnick, Boswell RD; also numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Member of Laurel Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jennerstown, where he was an usher, the Friday night mixed bowling league, the Terrace Lanes, Somerset, and the U.M.W.A. A U.S. Army veteran, retired heavy equipment operator for the former Fetterolf Coal Company, and was a self-employed farmer. Would have observed 49th wedding anniversary today, Feb. 20, 2001. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 1 p.m. until time of service 2 p.m. Thursday at Laurel Trinity Church, the Rev. James A. McCormick Jr., officiating. Interment, Mt. Zion cemetery.
