  Ethel E. "Betty" Barrett, 78, of Somerset, formerly of Cherry Tree died
  Feb. 8, 2000 at Somerset Hospital.  Born Nov. 24, 1921 in Johnstown,
  daughter of Eugene and Erdie (Markle) Kitchen.  Preceded in death by
  parents, daughter Cheryle Buterbaugh and brother Robert Kitchen.  Survived
  by husband of 53 years William, daughter Kathy LaMagna of Ft. Lauderdale,
  Fla. and son-in-law Jim and wife Margaret Buterbaugh, with whom he
  resided.  Also grandchildren Deidre Ruff, Haylee Heinsburg, Melissa Laird
  and Letitia LaMagna, and great-grandchildren Allison and Katherine Ruff. 
  Sister of Russell of Westover, Kendall of Mahaffey R.D., Helen Yeager of
  Holly Hill, Fla., Phyllis Dubos of Westover and Paul of Carrolltown.  Betty
  was a member of the Cherry Tree United Methodist Church.  Friends received 2
  to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and noon until the time of service at 1 p.m.
  Saturday at Long-Contres Funeral Home Inc., Cherry Tree, with Rev. Ronald
  Marshall.  Interment, East Ridge Cemetery. Family requests that memorial
  contributions be sent to Cherry Tree United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 65,
  Cherry Tree, Pa. 15724 in lieu of flowers.
