(Zanoni) Barron, 68, of Penn Avenue, Jenner Township, died unexpectedly May 9, 2003 at home. Born March 9, 1935 in Hyasota, Conemaugh Township, the daughter of Geno and Dolly (Lappi) Zanoni. Preceded in death by father, Aug. 15, 1976, husband James D. Jr., May 23, 1972, and brother-in-law D. Douglas Speigle, Sept. 26, 1990. Survived by loving family: mother of Boswell; daughter Jamie Deneen Barron at home and her fianc‚ Jeff Petrilla of Windber; son James D. Barron III of Somerset Pike; sisters Elda Speigle of Jenner Township, Mary Ann, married to Joseph G. Hoffman of Boswell and Gloria Miller of Somerset; nieces and nephews Kelly (Speigle) McVicker and husband Frank, Doug Speigle Jr. and wife Sally, Darcie Speigle, Chris Hoffman and wife Penny, Jeff Hoffman and wife Stacy, Joette (Hoffman) Stephens and husband Ron and Courtney and Ryan Miller; great-nieces and nephews Paige McVicker, R.J., Cameron and Jake Stephens, Kylie, Alec and Audrey Hoffman; and special aunt Rachael Lappi and her family. Also survived by numerous other relatives and friends. A 1953 graduate of the former JBJ High School, Boswell. A former licensed beautician and graduate of the International Culinary Academy, Pittsburgh. She took various courses to teach ceramics and through the years favored family and friends with her creations. An avid animal lover, giving a home to many abandoned pets. A devout Christian whose faith was never shaken. She deeply believed in Isaiah, Chapter 54, Verse 17, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper" and the closing line from FOOTPRINTS "During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints is was then that I (the Lord) carried you." She was a self-employed van driver for area children for more than 29 years. Friends received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell. At Betty's request the funeral service will be for family only. The Rev. Michael A. Dunlap officiating. Interment Kaufman Cemetery, Davidsville.
