Barron, 77, Somerset, died Aug. 17, 2004, at Somerset Hospital. Born Dec. 7, 1926, in Ralphton, he is the son of the late Clarence and Ruth (Brocht) Barron. Also preceded in death by brothers, Galen, Ray and Kenneth and a grandson Jamie Tinkey. Survived by his wife, the former Jean Walker; children, Edward Barron Jr. and Mrs. Lawrence (Joyce) Tinkey, both of Somerset, Mrs. Harry (Sandra) Leadbetter, Sipesville, Linda Snyder, Barry Barron and wife Janet and Terry Barron and wife Donna, all of Somerset; step-children Ernest Coleman, Las Vegas; Wayne Coleman, Somerset; and Connie Davies, Maryland. Eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mary Riley, Oklahoma. Member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, VFW Post 554, American Legion, Somerset, Eagles Aerie 1801. Army veteran of World War II and retired from Chessie System as a conductor for 30 years. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday in the Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jacquelyn S. Ahern will officiate. Interment, Casebeer Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Somerset County Honor Guard. Contributions may be made to the Casebeer Cemetery c/o Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church 10377 Somerset Pike, Somerset, Pa. 15501.
