Born in Somerset, he was the son of the late Ira and Anna Baltzer Barron. He was the plumbing inspector of Washington County for many years, retiring in 1985. He was a building contractor in Hagerstown; owned and operated the Colonial Motel. Involved in numerous independent businesses in Somerset. He was a Protestant and member of the Hagerstown Lion Club, the IOOF and the AARP. Also a world traveler and was known for his wood working. Survived by his wife, Ruth Barron; two daughters, Patricia Nicholson and Carole Ingram, both of Hagerstown; three sons, Wayne J. Barron and Woodrow A Barron, both of Hagerstown and Eugene R. Barron of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one sister, Virginia McAllister of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Emerson Barron of Williamsport, Md.; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by one grandchild. Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Eugene Miller will officiate. Arrangements by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E.
