Born March 22, 1922, in Walnut Grove, Cambria County, daughter of the late Verner and Edna Vallenius. Survived by husband of 57 ´ years, Thomas Barron, whom she married on June 1, 1946; sisters-in-law, Betty McCutcheon, Ligonier, and Janis Melvin, Davidsville; nieces and nephews, Sharon (Frailey) Marr, Victor, N.Y.; Kathy (McCutcheon) Brown, Ligonier; Cynthia (Sambor) Krause, Waldorf, Md.; Jeff Frailey, Erie, and Fred Sambor, Columbus, Ohio; eight great-nieces and nephews. Member of Moxham Lutheran Church where she served on the Social Ministry Committee and served as a lay minister, taking communion to homebound. She was a secretary at the Pentagon from 1941 to 1947. Partner of former Barrons Greenhouses. A 1941 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School. Member of Town and County bowling league, Richland Square Dancers, All American Swinger, Jolly Eight Card Club, Flood City Bowmen (archery club) and Hospitality Committee at Laurel View Village. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 9 pm. Sunday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc., Davidsville. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Moxham Lutheran Church, 500 Park Ave., the Rev. Robert Wagner and the Rev. Wes Yoder officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
