Born May 11, 1921 in Friedens, son of Webster and Sadie (Sayers) Barron. Preceded in death by parents, son Jacob "Buck" Barron Jr., sisters: Olive Long, Eva Bentz, Mildred Shoff, and Betty Shaulis, and brother: Robert Barron. Survived by his wife of 61 years the former Grace L. Hay; children: Dory married to Bud Davis of Somerset, Mary, married to Frank Kaminsky Jr. of Wilbur, Homer Barron of Stoystown, Ruth married to John Straka of Jennerstown, and Charlie, married to the former Cindy Bittner of Somerset; grandchildren: Mike, Jason, Mark, Leeann, Eric, Becky, Jill, Billy, Kayla, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Julie; nine great grandchildren; and a sister Fern Brant. He was a World War II Army Veteran, former Quemahoning Twp. supervisor, and former coal miner with G.M.&W. grove 1. Lifelong member of Friedens Lutheran Church, and Life Member of Robert P. Hite Post 257 American Legion, Stoystown. Member of UMWA, and Hooversville V. F.W. Post 7565. He was very active in politics, and enjoyed camping and fishing. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where a Legion service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Monday at Friedens Lutheran Church. The Rev. Edward V. DeVore officiating. Interment Lambertsville Cemetery.
