Barron, 95, Washington Township, died Aug. 6, 2007, at her home. Born Nov. 28, 1911, in Somerset Township, the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Brougher) Ream. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry E. Barron, Aug. 20, 1984; sister, Anna E. Walker, 1951; nephew, Ream Walker, February 2007. Survived by daughters, Twila B. (William J. ) Guss, Albuquerque, N.M.; Marlonna B. (William H.) Moore, Washington Township; Denise Thomas Dey, Los Alamos, N.M.; five grandchildren, Cherise M. (Kenton) Rachal, Washington Township; Kevin E. Moore, Washington Township; Darwin B. Moore, Washington Township; Lorin K. (Karen) Moore, Washington Township; Stephen E. Dey, Los Alamos, N.M.; five great-grandchildren, Christina A. Dey, Los Alamos, N.M.; Jesse S. Rachal, Washington Township; Shane N. Moore, Washington Township; Gretchen N. Stewart, Washington Township. Also survived by several great-nieces and nephews. She lived in Washington Township since 1947. Maebelle and her husband, Henry, were owners and operators of Barron School Bus Lines in Washington Township from 1947 to 1972. A member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Oklahoma Boro, and past member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Lavansville. She served as church organist for both churches for a total of more than 60 years. Member of East Vandergrift Senior Citizens club and played piano for their singing group the Sing-a-longs that provided entertainment at local nursing homes, former president of the Washington Township Women's Club and the Soroptomist Club of the Kiski Valley. She was commemorated by President George W. Bush by letter and with a pin for her more than 4,000 hours of community service. Her hobbies included bowling with her church league, crafts, quilting and gardening. Family and friends will certainly miss her warm and friendly smile. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home Inc., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo, PA 15613. Additional visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service 10 a.m. Friday at the Faith Lutheran Church, Oklahoma Boro. The Rev. Keith Deckinger and the Rev. Sherman Berkey officiating. Burial in Mount Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery, Lavansville. Memorial contributions may be given to Faith Lutheran Church, 1596 Hancock Ave., Apollo, PA 15613.
