Barron Jr., 53, of 102 Robert St., Belle Vernon, died in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh Tuesday, Jan. 3, 1978. Born in Somerset Jan. 5, 1924, the son of Merle Sr. and the late Marie Mosholder. He was a member of Grace United Church of Monesson. He has lived in Belle Vernon area for the past 20 years and he formerly lived in Somerset. He was an assistant engineer for Rostraver Twp. Survived by his wife, Eleanor Shaffer Barron; one son, Merle V. III, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Ann) Hepple of Charleroi; and father, Merle Sr., of Belle Vernon; two sisters, Mrs. Leon Afek of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Reffner of Friedens RD 2; one grandchild, Chris Hepple. Friends are being received at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Howard E. Kennedy of the Grace United Methodist Church of Monesson and the Rev. Joseph C. Rial Jr. of the First United Methodist Church of Monangehla officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
