Born Oct. 16, 1924 in Marytown, W.Va., a son of Arthur James and Dovie Belle (Harman) Bartlett. Survived by his mother of Wise, Va.; his wife, the former Sarah Boring; and the following children: Carol Ann Bartlett of Chicago, Ill.; Arthur James Bartlett III, Beckley, W.Va.; Deane H. Bartlett of Lindenwold, N.J.; and John D. Bartlett of Addison; two step-children, Sherry A. Georg of Accident, Md.; and Nathan S. Lint of Addison; two grandchildren, Tiffany Georg and Charley Lint; also one sister, Mae Straughan of Wise, Va. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Lynchburg, Va., chapter; honorary colonel of Kentucky Colonel Order; member of Virginia Tech Alumni Association, Blacksburg, Va. Navy veteran of World War II. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m., Pastor David Bomboy officiating.
