Born May 21, 1936, in Normalville. A son of the late Benjamin F. and Goldie (Rugg) Basinger. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son Herbie, four brothers and three sisters. Survived by his wife, the former Alma Harris; a son, Jay of Confluence; and five grandchildren. Also three brothers, Eugene Shipley, Joppa, Md.; Ronald Basinger, Igo, Calif.; and Joseph Basinger, Phoenix, Ariz., and two sisters, Jane Heckler, South Connellsville, and Elaine Clevenger, Confluence. A veteran of the U.S. Army. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. A.
