(Robbins) 02/07/06 Daily American Darl C. (Robbins) Bason, 70, 16 Ridgway, Northumberland, died at home Feb. 5, 2006. She was in failing health for 17 years. Born April 20, 1935, in Mount Pleasant Township, Columbia County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Florence (McMichael) Robbins. She resided in Northumberland for three years and previously in Somerset for 28 years. Darl and her husband James L. Bason, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 5. Also surviving are three daughters, Lyndee Reed, Boca Raton, Fla.; Lori Lei, wife of Matthew Ferdock, Douglasville; Lisa Ann, wife of Mark Hicks, Somerset; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Arden Robbins and his wife, Ruth, and Dean Robbins, and his wife, Hazel, both of Bloomsburg; and a sister, Lorene Miller, Shickshinny. Darl was a 1953 graduate of Bloomsburg High School, Bloomsburg. She was employed by the Daily American newspaper in Somerset for 20 years and was the personnel director when she retired in 1997. She is a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg. Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Dean W. Kriner Inc., Funeral Home, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Lisa A. Mitchell, Lay Minister of Visitation at Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment in Ikeler's Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Township, Columbia County. The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to Sun Home Hospice, P.O. Box 232, Northumberland, PA 17857.
