    Melda Saylor Bassett, 95, Somerset, died Jan. 8, 1974 in
  Berlin.  Born in Somerset Township, Feb. 27, 1878, daughter of James
  B. and Emma Lape Saylor.  Preceded in death by parents, husband,
  Frank A. Bassett, three brothers and three sisters.  Survived by one
  sister, Mrs. George L. (Neva) Longridge, three nieces and one
  nephew.  Graduate of Somerset High School and District Normal
  School.  Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset.  Friends
  received 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. 
  Private gravesite services 10 a.m. Thursday in Husband cemetery, Rev.
  James L. Meyers.  Please omit flowers.
