All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ JOHN ELWOOD BAUGHMAN John Elwood Baughman, son of the late Lloyd and Mrs. Mable Baughman died Saturday evening Aug. 23, 1947, at 7:10 in the Hazel McGilvery Hospital, Meyersdale. Death was due to internal injuries sustained when his footing slipped and he fell from an empty steel that he was riding down to the side track after having emptied the coal in the shoot at the coaling station of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad one mile east of Garrett where he was employed. Mr. Baughman, who was born February 12, 1907, is survived by his wife, Emaline Judy Baughman; his mother, Mrs. Mable Mullin Baughman; four sisters - Mrs. Marie Baughman Mosteller, Cumberland, Elsie Baughman Long, Somerset, Melvine Baughman Golby, Acosta, Luella Baughman Harrison, Somerset; one brother, Lester Baughman, Pittsburgh, and one half brother, Earl Baughman, Somerset. Funeral services were held from the Johnson Funeral Home, Berlin, Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. H. K. Hilner, pastor of the Meyersdale Zion Lutheran Church, officiating in the absence of the Rev. H. C. Bock, pastor of the Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, Garrett. Interment was made in the Highland Cemetery, Garrett. Meyersdale Republican, August 28, 1947
