    John H. Baum, 87, Friedens, died Sept. 9, 2007, at Somerset Hospital. Born Sept. 4,
  1920, in Bentleyville, a son of John and Thelma (Miller) Baum. Preceded in death by
  parents; wife, Virginia (Kelley) Baum; one brother and grandson, John B. Hostetler.
  Survived by a daughter, Vicki, married to Jessie M. Wood, Shanksville; granddaughter,
  Rayna, married to Daniel Diyn, Friedens; great-grandchildren, John B. Hostetler II,
  Cristopher and Cody Diyn. Also survived by sisters, Beverly Gatten and Mary Jane Boden.
  He was a former member of the Civilian Conservation Corp. and a World War II Army Air
  Corps veteran. A member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66. He
  attended Grace Baptist Church, Somerset. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to
  9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 1:30 p.m.
  Wednesday. Tommy Brown, pastor, officiating. Interment, Glade Cemetery. Memorial
