Born Dec. 26, 1900, in Brothersvalley Township, son of Ephraim Gilbert and Sarah Minerva (Stahl) Bauman. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Ralph W.; sisters, Alberta Naugle, Edna Snyder, Iva and Laura. Survived by several cousins, including Robert and Walter Stahl of Baltimore, Md. Retired Brothersvalley Township farmer, blacksmithy, lumberman, and former surveyor for the railroad. He was a well-versed historian of the area. Member of Mt. Zion (Hays) U.C.C. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Rev. Charles R. Dunn. Interment, Hays Church Cemetery.
