Bauman passed away at his home near Glencoe, April 20, after suffering from a lingering illness for almost a year. He was born in Northampton Township, July 5, 1874, a son of the late Harry and Rose Ann Bauman. He was active in his community, holding offices in the various organizations. He was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Church and had held offices in the church since early manhood. He was elder emeritus of the church at the time of his death. Mr. Bauman retired from the B & O Railroad about ten years ago, but continued to work on his farm. He is survived by a son, Theodore Bauman, of Glencoe, and a daughter, Mrs. Bruce Ackerman of Meyersdale RD 2; a half-brother, James Engleka of Rockwood RD; a brother, Daniel H. Bauman of Meyersdale; two sisters, Mrs. H. C. Keihm of Delavan, Minn., and Mrs. H. L. Zimmerman, Los Angeles, Calif., and also by five grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death three years ago. He was a kind and loving father, and was highly respected by all his friends and neighbors. Funeral services were conducted April 23 at two o'clock in the Mt. Lebanon Church, with interment in the church cemetery under direction of Johnson & Son, funeral directors. Meyersdale Republican, April 28, 1949
