BAUSH Mrs. Laura (Knepper) Baush, aged 72, widow of Peter Baush, died Saturday evening at 6:30 o'clock in Oglethorpe Hospital, Savannah, Ga., following a brief illness of pneumonia. Mrs. Baush was taken suddenly ill a few days ago after arriving at the home of her daughter in Savannah to spend the winter. She left Somerset for the South on November 8. She was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olive Knepper, both deceased. Following her graduation from the Indiana, Pa., State Normal School, she taught in the primary grades at Somerset until 1882, when she married Peter Baush, of Somerset. Mr. and Mrs. Baush moved to Beaver City, Neb., after their marriage, where they resided until Mr. Baush passed away in 1897. Mrs. Baush then returned to Somerset and again was engaged as a teacher. She retired eight years ago and had since been spending the summers in Somerset with her sister, Mrs. Frederick W. Biesecker, and the winters in Georgia with her two daughters, Mrs. Alexander James and Miss Elizabeth Baush. Surviving are these children: Miss Elizabeth Baush, librarian at Savannah, Ga.; Mrs. Alexander James, of Savannah, Ga., and John R. Baush, of Philadelphia. A son, Lieut. Robert O. Baush, was killed on board the U.S.S. Utah in 1918. These brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. H. H. Anderson, of Gotebo, Okla.; Mrs. Frederick W. Biesecker, of Somerset; Mrs. John H. Beerits, of Somerset, and Orlo S. Knepper, of Bethlehem, Pa. Four grandchildren also survive. One brother, Captain Chester H. Knepper, of the U.S. Navy, is deceased. Mrs. Baush was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset, and was a teacher of the Seekers Bible Class for many years. She also was a soloist in the church choir. The body of Mrs. Baush arrived at Somerset Monday afternoon and was moved to the Frederick W. Biesecker home, where funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock in charge of the Rev. Dr. I. Hess Wagner, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church, followed by burial in the Somerset Union Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, December 1, 1932
