"Brownie" 10/02/05 The New Republic January 10, 1915 - October 2, 2005 Bronislaus E. "Brownie" Bayorek, 90, of Economy, died peacefully, Sunday, October 2, 2005, in his home. Born January 10, 1915, in Ambridge, he was a son of the late Jacob and Anna Gallant Bayorek. He was a retired machine operator for H.K. Porter Company and former maintenance man for the Friendship House in Sewickley. He attended Conway Missionary Alliance Church. A 1934 graduate of Ambridge High School, he served in the U.S. Army with the 85th Infantry Division during World War II. A recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, 4 Bronze Service Stars, and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, he was involved in campaigns in Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arna and North Apennines. Brownie loved to fish, especially in Canada and loved company. He and his wife traveled extensively. Brownie's sense of humor and spirit of fun are legendary. Surviving are his beloved wife of 59 years, Fannie Klink Bayorek; a daughter, Norma Jean Hamill and her husband David of Naperville, Ill.; a son, Barry Bayorek of West Wendover, Nev.; two grandsons: Jason Hamill of Virginia Beach, Va.; and Michael Hamill of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Josephine Sokolowski of Ambridge; a sister-in-law, Mary Bayorek of Aliquippa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his two sisters: Sophie Barnhart and Nora Reshman and two brothers: Frank and John Bayorek. A special thanks to all his friends for visiting him and a special thanks to Linda Smith and Elizabeth Evans. If you forget me, you have lost nothing, but if you meet Jesus Christ and forget Him, you have lost everything. Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the John Syka Funeral Home, Ambridge and from 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday in the Conway Missionary Alliance Church, his nephew, the Rev. William Blair, Pastor of the United Methodist Church in Titusville officiated. Entombment followed in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum. Memorial contributions if desired, may be made to the Hope Hospice, 3292 Babcock Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Members of the Beaver County Special Unit will meet Wednesday at noon in the cemetery to provide full military honors.
