Beachley, 71, a native and former citizen of Brothersvalley Township, died at his home in Wittman, Md., January 30th. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Beachley and was born on the Beachley farm midway between Somerset and Berlin, along the old Plank Road. He moved to the eastern shore of Maryland 36 years ago, with other members of his family, and there became a prosperous farmer. He is survived by a brother, Dalton J. Beachley, serving his second term as a member of the Board of Commissioners of Somerset County; Mrs. James Maust, Somerset, R.D. 5; Mrs. Ella Miller, Easton, Md.; Mrs. Ada Coleman and Mrs. Verda Cober, both of Wittman, Md.; also by a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Beachley never married and his sister, Mrs. Cober, a widow, was his housekeeper. His body was brought to the Johnson Funeral Home, Berlin, where it was viewed by friends until Sunday at 2:30 p.m., when funeral services were held in the Beachdale Church of the Brethren of which he was a member. Rev. A. Jay Replogle, officiated. A very large number of friends came to pay tribute to his memory. Interment was made in the Beachdale Cemetery, under the direction of Johnson & Son.
