She was the wife of Wilbert H. Beachy, deputy secretary of revenue and chairman of the Somerset County Republican party. Mrs. Beachy had been in ill health the past year, and recently returned from a trip to Florida with her husband, apparently in better health. Saturday, she became seriously ill and was taken in an ambulance to the hospital. Death was due to a cardiac condition. She was born in Somerset, the daughter of the late Elmer E. and Minnie Sipe Pritts. Her father was a former superintendent of Somerset County schools. Mrs. Beachy was well known in the community and took an active part in many community affairs. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Chapter of Eastern Star, Somerset County Council of Republican Women, Somerset Music Club, Fortnightly Club and the Somerset Country Club. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Wilbert H. Beachy Jr., a student at University of Pennsylvania law school in Philadelphia. Funeral services were conducted at Walter S. Hoffman Funeral Home, Somerset, Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock, with the Rev. Dr. I. Hess Wagner officiating. Burial was made in the Husband Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, April 21, 1949
