  MRS. VERNON BEACHY
  
    Mrs. Gertrude B. Beachy, 67, Grantsville, died Aug. 7, 1972, in Sacred
  Heart Hospital, Cumberland, after a lingering illness.
    Born in McHenry, Md., she was a daughter of Mrs. Bertha (Cross) Wilburn
  and the late Blaine Wilburn.
    She was a member of Grantsville Firemen's Auxiliary, the Homemakers Club
  and the WSCS of Grantsville United Methodist Church.
    Surviving, besides her mother, are her husband, Vernon Beachy; seven
  sons:   William Beachy, Baltimore; Carl, Sacramento, Calif.; Eugene,
  Adelphia, Md.; Ronald, Upper Marlboro, Md.; Marvin, Gaithersburg, Md.;
  Harold, Miami, Fla., and Richard, Grantsville; three daughters, Mrs. Mary
  George, Frederick, Md.; Mrs. Janet Carroll, Woodbridge, Va.; and Mrs.
  Cathleen McGregor, Glen Burnie, Md.; 21 grandchildren, one
  great-grandchild, a brother, Russell Wilburn, Barnsboro; and four sisters:
  Mrs. Edna Woodward, Markleysburg; Mrs. Evelyn George, Grantsville, Mrs.
  Mabel Savage, Oakland; and Mrs. Helen Rodeheaver, Friendsville, Md.
    Funeral service will be conducted this (Thursday) afternoon at two
  o'clock at Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Paul Lovejoy
  officiating.  Interment in Grantsville Cemetery.
