Born near Grantsville, April 5, 1889, he was a son of the late Jacob and Mary Beachy. His entire life was spent in this community where he was engaged in farming. He married Miss Carrie Diefenbach 21 years ago. She and their three daughters, Mildred L., Mary Jane and Grace V. Beachy, all at home, survive. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Alva Spoerline, Somerset, Pa., Mrs. Walter Cook, Frostburg, and Mrs. Irvin Beachy, Grantsville, and two brothers, Clarence and Sherman Beachy, Grantsville. Mr. Beachy took an active part in the work of the local Lutheran church, of which he had been a member since 1914. He was also a member of the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department. Following a short service at the home, funeral rites were conducted in the Lutheran church at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, by Rev. Samuel D. Sigler, pastor. Interment was in the Grantsville Cemetery under the direction of William Winterberg, local mortician. Pallbearers were Charles S. Zeller, Emerson Sebold, Wendell Lohr, Adam A. Hanft, Daniel Klotz and Harold Miller. Meyersdale Republican, December 25, 1941
