  LUTHER COOLIDGE BEACHY
  
    Luther Coolidge Beachy, 73, of 93 E. Main Street, Grantsville, Md., died
  Saturday, July 5, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
    Born June 12, 1924, in Grantsville, he was a son of the late Galen and
  Vena (Yost) Beachy.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Bradley, and a
  brother, Galen Beachy, Jr.
    Mr. Beachy was a member of the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren.  A
  U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Grantsville Post 214
  of the American Legion and a lifetime member of Walker-Harris Post of the
  VFW, Salisbury.
    He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane (Wilt) Beachy; three sons:  Gerald
  and Kevin Beachy, both of Grantsville; and Timothy Beachy, Springs; three
  daughters: Kathy Riley, Cresaptown, Md.; Rebecca Hresko, Eldersburg, Md.;
  and Tamara Beachy, Grantsville; two sisters:  Kay Speicher, Grantsville;
  and Helen Keim Somerset; and nine grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, July 6,
  where services were conducted July 7, with the Rev. Terrell Mallow
  officiating.  Interment, Grantsville Cemetery.  Military graveside rites
  were accorded by the American Legion.
