Her death was caused by heart disease and dropsy. Mrs. Beachy was born at Keyser's Ridge, Garrett County, Md., and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Platter. Her husband is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Beachy, and he also was born and reared in Garrett County, Md., where he and his wife resided until several years ago, when they became residents of Salisbury. The deceased became the second wife of Mr. Beachy about 42 years ago. As a wife and mother, Mrs. Beachy ranked among the best, and was held in high esteem by her neighbors, and in fact, by all who knew her. She was a faithful member of the Church of the Brethren, and will be sadly missed by all she came in contact with at the services of her church, as well as by the members of her household and the neighbors and friends she mingled with from day to day. The funeral service was conducted at the Salisbury Church of the Brethren, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, by Rev. A. D. Scrogum, pastor of the Church of the Brethren at Accident, Md., assisted by Rev. Guy E. Wampler, pastor of the local church mentioned. The burial arrangement was in charge of Funeral Director William Winterberg, of Grantsville, Md. Interment was made in the Grantsville Cemetery. The funeral was largely attended, and many of those in attendance were from her native state and county. The floral tributes were very beautiful. Mrs. Beachy is survived by her husband, and children as follows: Emma, employed in the household of H. P. Miller, near Grantsville, Md.; Howard, an employee of the Western Union Telegraph Company, at Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Florence, wife of August Huff, residing near Grantsville, Md.; Ruth, at home, and Pauline, a student enrolled at Blue Ridge College, Md. She is also survived by one brother and two sisters, namely, Jonas Platter, of Addison, Pa.; Mrs. Christian Vought, of Alum Bank, Pa., and Mrs. Henry Sausman, of Slippery Rock, Pa.
