Beachy, died last Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dallas J. Fike, of apoplexy. She passed away about an hour and a half after receiving the fatal stroke. Prior to that she was in fairly good health. She had a light stroke some time ago, but quickly recovered. She was born in 1850 in Summit Township, and was aged 80 years, 7 months and 19 days. Her maiden name was Fike. She lived with her husband on the fine farm in Elk Lick Township south of Salisbury Borough known latterly as the Harvey C. Miller farm, for many years until after her husband's death, after which she disposed of the farm and made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Fike. Two daughters survive her, Mrs. D. J. Fike and Mrs. C. A. Lichty of Sabetha, Kansas. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Samuel J. Meyers and Mrs. Frank Turner, both of Milledgeville, Ill. Seven grandchildren and four great- grandchildren also survive. One daughter, Miss Alice, preceded her to the grave. Mrs. Fike was a lifelong member of the Church of the Brethren. She was highly esteemed by all who knew her. Funeral services were held in the Meyersdale church of that denomination at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. George L. Detweiler, assisted by the former pastor, Rev. T. R. Coffman of Somerset. Interment was made in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Salisbury, in the family plot. The funeral was directed by W. C. Price.
