Beachy, 88, of 758 Springs Rd., Grantsville, Md., formerly of Salisbury, died Jan. 18, 1998, at his home. Born April 12, 1909 in Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Simon C. and Sarah (Tice) Beachy. He was preceded in death by 2 children, Homer A. Beachy and Mary Lois Beachy. He is survived by his wife, Fannie N. (Hershberger) Beachy; 5 children, Sarah M. Tice and husband, Henry; Simon D. Beachy and wife, Martha (Tice); Martha L. Yoder and husband, Raymond G., all of Grantsville; Miriam F. Yoder and husband, Eli R., Seebree, Ky.; and Marvin J. Beachy and wife, Dorothy Fern (Yoder), Elizabethtown; 21 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Mr. Beachy was a retired farmer and owner of Beachy's Feed Service, West Salisbury. A member of Mountain View Christian Fellowship, he served a s trustee and member of Mountain View School Board. He was past treasurer of the Christian Business Men's Association. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md., from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mountain View Christian Fellowship with Rev. Jerry Yoder officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Mountain View Church Brotherly Sharing for hospital expenses.
