Beachy, 83, of Millersburg, Ohio, formerly of Meyersdale RD 1, died Oct. 3, 1975, at his home. He was born Aug. 15, 1892, a son of the late Daniel S. and Amanda (Miller) Beachy. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Elizabeth Spenler, and a son. Surviving are his second wife, the former Lulu Schlabach, and a daughter, Barbara, wife of Ervin Hershberger, of Meyersdale RD 1; one granddaughter and three great-grandchildren. He was a brother of Simon Beachy, Salisbury RD 1; Joel Beachy and Mrs. Lucy Smokder, Grantsville; Eli Beachy, Oakland Md.; Alvin Beachy, Greenwood, Del.; Mrs. Elizabeth Miller, Sarasota, Fla.; Mrs. Salome Nafziger of Intercourse, Pa. For many years he was known in Somerset County as the "Whitewash Man". He was a member of Shiloh Fellowship Church of Millersburg. Funeral service was held Monday afternoon in Mountainview Church, Salisbury, in charge of Eli Tice, Noah Yoder and Elam Kaufman.
