All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ PETER BEACHY Peter Beachy, born July 21, 1865, near Grantsville, Md., where most of his life was spent, died at the home of his son, Howard Beachy, in Salisbury, Pa., Aug. 2, 1941, aged 76 years and 11 days. Deceased was also a resident of Salisbury for some years. The cause of his death was heart disease, from which he suffered at intervals during his last year, but was able to be up and about within two days of his death. He was a son of Aaron and Catherine (Folk) Beachy, and was highly esteemed as an honest, upright citizen, and a faithful member of the Church of the Brethren during the greater portion of his long and honorable life. Funeral service was conducted at the Beachy home, West Ord Street, last Monday, by Rev. Arthur Serogum, of Accident, Md., at 2 o'clock p.m., and his mortal remains were interred in the Grantsville Cemetery, under the direction of MOrtician William Winterberg of Grantsville. Mr. Beachy is survived by these children: Mrs. Lawrence Durst, residing near Salisbury, Mrs. August Hanft, of Darlington, Md.; Mrs. Herman Hartman, of Salisbury; Miss Pauline Beachy, of Bel Air, Md. He is also survived by three brothers, Joseph, Edward and Bud Beachy, all residing a few miles west of Grantsville. Among those in attendance at the funeral were a number of relatives and friends from his native state. Meyersdale Republican, August 7, 1941
