Beachy; two sons, Daniel Beachy, Conestoga, Pa.; and Philip Beachy, Salisbury; five daughters: Naomi Petersheim, Oakland, Md.; Dorcas Yoder, Grandsville, Md.; Alice Tice, Dover, Del.; Mary Jane Yoder, Meyersdale; and Miriam Bruno, West Jefferson, Ohio; three brothers: Henry Eli Yoder and Paul H. Born on Oct. 27, 1936 in Somerset, the daughter of Leonard and Nellie (Swank) Pyle. Preceded in death by her husband Byard Beachy on Jan. 20, 1987; two brothers and one sister. Survived by two sons, Mark Beachy, of Warren and Paul Beachy of Summerville, S.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Prokop of Columbus; 5 grandchildren; and brothers and sisters: Gerald and Earl Pyle of Somerset; Betty Ruse of Carmichaels; Dorothy Green, Esther Pyle and Laverne Forney, all of Somerset. Mrs. Beachy moved to Warren in 1954 and was a homemaker. A graduate of Warren Business College, a member of the American Legion Post 472 of Youngstown, Ohio, and was formerly a member of the Somerset United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and traveling and was also a volunteer for the Champion Schools. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment, Champion Township Cemetery, Warren. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Born Nov. 20, 1910, in Somerset County, he was a son of the late Moses and Lucy (Miller) Beachy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha (Yoder) Beachy, on Feb. 7, 1989; and four children. Mr. Beachy was a member of Laws Mennonite Church. He was a retired dairy farmer and enjoyed woodworking as a hobby and was also an avid astronomer. He was a member of the Casselman Valley Historical Society. He is survived by a son, Allen M. Beachy, Lincoln, Del.; two daughters, Bertha June Beachy, Manassas, Va.; and Jennie Encarnacion, Tampa, Fla.; a foster daughter, Carmen Riveria, Norfolk, Va.; two sisters, Mary Yoder and Ruth Beiler, both of Grantsville, Md.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. For many years he was known in Somerset County as the "Whitewash Man". He was a member of Shiloh Fellowship Church of Millersburg.
