Beachy, 81, of Salisbury RD 1, passed away at his home July 12, 1984. He was born in Madison County, Ohio, June 26, 1903, the son of the late Alvin M. and Mary (Christner) Beachy. He is survived by his widow, Lydia (Hershberger) Beachy; two sons, Minno S. Beachy, and Samuel A. Beachy Jr., both of Salisbury; two daughters: Elva Yoder, Manassas, Va.; and Miss Fannie Beachy Salisbury, four sisters, Mrs. Anna Weirich, McMinnville, Ore.; Mrs. Mary Clink, Clearwater, Fla.; Mrs. Elizabeth Erb, Sarasota, Fla.; and Mrs. Suzanna Jones, Ligonier, Ind.; and 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Springs Mennonite Church; he was the founder and former owner/operator of Sam Beachy and Sons. Services will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m. at the Springs Mennonite Church with the Rev. Steven Heatwole and the Rev. Roy Otto, officiating. Interment, Springs Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 9 a.m. Monday. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md., Friday and Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
