BEACHY Simon Menno Beachy died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Beal, on Salisbury R.D. 1, on Saturday, November 23, of chronic myocarditis. Mr. Beachy was born on December 15, 1872, in Garrett County, Maryland, a son of John C. and Susan (Bowser) Beachy, and was aged 73 years, 11 months and 8 days. He was twice wed, to Katherine (Bender) Beachy, who died many years ago, and to Mrs. Susie Beachy, who died in 1937. He was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church of Bittinger, Maryland. Mr. Beachy is survived by four children: Mrs. Harry Beal, with whom he resided; Mrs. George W. H. Beal of Markleton; Ernest R. Beachy, Salisbury R.D. 1, and Elmer C. Beachy of Grantsville. He is also survived by one brother, Oliver, and one sister, Mrs. Hettie Detrick, both of Bittinger, Md., and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Beal home at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, and at 3 p.m. in the Glades Mennonite Church, at Glades, Md. Rev. Milton Miller and Rev. Walter Otto officiated at the services. Interment in the Glades cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas, of Salisbury. Meyersdale Republican, November 29, 1946
