Born June 20, 1911, in Salisbury, she was a daughter of the late Christian W. and Ida (Hershberger) Bender. She was also preceded in death by three grandchildren, Vivian, Rodney and Audrey Maust; one step-granddaughter, Cynthia Yoder; four brothers, Floyd, Lewis, Omar and Harvey Bender; and one sister, Lena Yoder. Mrs. Beachy was a member of Maple Glen Mennonite Church and the Women's Sewing Circle. She volunteered for many years at Goodwill Mennonite Home and World's Attic. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Simon D. Beachy; four daughters, Hilda, wife of Ivan Maust, Grantsville, Md., Ada, wife of Evan Maust, Salisbury, Esther, wife of Edward Yoder, Grantsville, Lucy wife of Alva Maust, Accident; three sisters, Myra Maust, Della Miller and Fannie (Mrs. Paul) Zook, all of Grantsville; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, Md. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in Maple Glen Mennonite Church with the Rev. Philip Moser and the Rev. Sanford Bender officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Maple Glen Mennonite Church.
