Born Aug. 29, 1921, at Grantsville, he was a son of the late Sherman E. and Clara (Miller) Beachy. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Lynn Beachy, March 1, 1956, two sisters, JoAnn E. Beachy and Margaret E. Peck and a brother, Sherman E. Beachy, Jr. Mr. Beachy was an army veteran of WW II, was a member of Grantsville Post 214, American Legion and former member of Grantsville Fire Dept. He attended Cherry Grove Church of the Brethren. Mr. Beachy was a retired mechanic for Casselman Motor Co. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Virginia (Durst) Beachy, two daughters, Linda G. Horsman and husband, Frank, Cambridge, Md., Sally A. Miller and husband, Byron, Grantsville, two brothers, Cecil Beachy, Somerset, Virgil Beachy, Grantsville, two sisters, Arlene Leedy, Towson, Md., Helen Durst, Salisbury, two grandchildren, Russell Ray Lawson and Amber Nicole Miller, a step granddaughter, Mandy Lynn Horsman and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville on Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor David McKinney officiating. Interment, Grantsville Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by Grantsville Post 214, American Legion.
