His death was caused by a heart attack, followed by paralytic strokes. He was a former resident of Salisbury, and his late wife, who preceded him in death within the last few years, was Miss Isolene Smith, and was born and reared in Salisbury. His parents were also for a long time residents of Salisbury. A telegram sent to his aunt, Mrs. Robert H. Johnson, Salisbury, was received early this week, but at the time of this writing (Tuesday evening) relatives here had not yet received any details concerning his funeral and such other data as obituaries usually contain, but it is known here that when Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beal located in California, they were still a young couple. Mr. Beal's age was about 65 years, and during most of his life in California he was a dependable and efficient motorman on an electric car he operated by the Pacific Electric Company, between Los Angeles and Hollywood.
