  CLIFTON N. "NICK" BEAL
  
    Clifton N. "Nick" Beal, 84, of Clarence Street, Hyndman, died Thursday,
  Dec. 1, 1988, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
    Born June 24, 1904, at Gravel Pit, he was a son of the late Charles W.
  Beal and Edith (Wolford) Beal Shaffer.
    He was retired with 41 years of service as the manager of the Potomac
  Edison Co. in Hyndman.  He was a member of the Grace United Methodist
  Church, the Hyndman Senior Citizens, the Hyndman Lodge 589 F. and A.M. and
  a member of the Ali Ghan Temple of Cumberland, Md.
    He is survived by his widow, Leona C. (Menges) Beal; two daughters, Mrs.
  Janet C. Waltman, San Antonio, Tex.; and Mrs. N. Lynne Leap, Hyndman RD 1;
  a brother, Carson J. Shaffer, Hyndman; two stepbrothers, Eugene Shaffer,
  Hyndman RD 1; and Guy Shaffer, Cumberland, Md.
    Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home where
  services were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Thomas H. Zimmerman
  officiating.
    Interment, Madley Cemetery in Madley.
