Beal, 62, well-known Berlin carpenter, died about 1:30 o'clock last Thursday morning at his home in Berlin, after an extended illness. He had made his home in Berlin for the last 22 years and was a member of the Brethren Church. Mr. Beal was a son of Eli and Elizabeth (Croft) Beal. Surviving are his widow, Annie (Brant) Beal, and the following children: Irene, wife of Nelson Chester, Eldora, N.J.; Rae, wife of Kenneth Burtnett, Brockway, Pa.; Grace, wife of Milton Spangler, Friedens, and Florence, wife of Ernest Dively, Berlin. One daughter, Hazel, died 20 years ago. He was a brother of Harry, William and John Beal, all of Berlin R.D., and George Beal of Berlin. Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Johnson & Son Funeral Home by Rev. J. A. Replogle, pastor of the Berlin Church of the Brethren. Interment was in the Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, April 23, 1942
