Beal, 76, of Washington, Pa., died Friday, June 3, 1988 in the Washington Hospital. He was born March 2, 1912 in Meyersdale, the son of Joseph and Elda Beal. He had been a meter reader for the West Penn Power Co., retiring after 27 years service. He was a Lutheran by faith, was a member of the Independent Club, and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 22. On October 24, 1973 he was united in marriage to Mary Locust. Surviving is son Donald Beal of Mt. Savage, Md.; three stepchildren Richard Roux, of Portage, Ind.; Lewis Ruscello, of Washington; Donna Harbaugh, of Washington; a brother Richard Beal, of Astabuah [sic], Ohio; two sisters, Anna Snyder, of Cumberland, Md.; and Julia Lapham, of Greensburg; one grandchild, seven step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Earl Beal and a sister Mable Danver. Funeral services were held Monday, June 6, at 1 p.m. with Rev. John H. Wilkins officiating. Burial was in Washington Cemetery. Arrangements were by William G. Neal Funeral Homes LTD, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. The Republic, June 9, 1988 [B0787]
