GEORGE W. BEAL

  George W. Beal, a resident of Elk Lick Township, died at the home of his son, 
Harry Beal, about 2 miles south of Salisbury, Sunday, Jan. 25, 1942, at the age 
of 68 years, 4 months and 2 days.  His death was caused by cancer of the 
stomach, from which he had suffered a long time.
  He was a son of Mrs. Lavina (Hutzell) Beal and the late Simon Beal, and is 
survived by his mother, who resides in or near Berlin, and three sons and a 
daughter, namely, Simon of Berlin, Albert of Lake Lynn, Pa., Harry of Elk Lick 
Township, and Mrs. Charles Pile of Friedens.  Surviving also are these brothers 
and sisters: Perry, Daniel, Mrs. Harry Ackerman and Mrs. Adam Hahn, all of 
Meyersdale; Benjamin of Rochester, N.Y.; Simon of Fairhope Township; Lewis of 
Mount Savage, Md., and Mrs. Charles Koontz of Jerome.
  Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. today (Thursday) at the home where Mr. 
Beal died.
  Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Berlin, under the direction of 
Stanley M. Thomas, mortician, of Salisbury.
