Beal, a resident of Elk Lick Township, died at the home of his son, Harry Beal, about 2 miles south of Salisbury, Sunday, Jan. 25, 1942, at the age of 68 years, 4 months and 2 days. His death was caused by cancer of the stomach, from which he had suffered a long time. He was a son of Mrs. Lavina (Hutzell) Beal and the late Simon Beal, and is survived by his mother, who resides in or near Berlin, and three sons and a daughter, namely, Simon of Berlin, Albert of Lake Lynn, Pa., Harry of Elk Lick Township, and Mrs. Charles Pile of Friedens. Surviving also are these brothers and sisters: Perry, Daniel, Mrs. Harry Ackerman and Mrs. Adam Hahn, all of Meyersdale; Benjamin of Rochester, N.Y.; Simon of Fairhope Township; Lewis of Mount Savage, Md., and Mrs. Charles Koontz of Jerome. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. today (Thursday) at the home where Mr. Beal died. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Berlin, under the direction of Stanley M. Thomas, mortician, of Salisbury. Meyersdale Republican, January 29, 1942
