  BEAL
  
    James M. Beal, 74, Franklin Street, Johnstown, died Jan. 14, 1985, at Lee
  Hospital, Johnstown. Born Feb. 1, 1910, in Friedens, son of the late Charles
  E. and Elizabeth (Scurfield) Beal.  Preceded in death by wife, former Rena
  Jenkins; daughter, Judith; and brother, Lambert.  Survived by these
  children:  Charles William, North Huntingdon, Pa.; Mrs. William (Carol)
  Nightingale, Garrett; C. Gerald, Locust Grove, Va.; Ronald, Mechanicsburg;
  Donna Atchison, Somerset; and James R. and Linda, both of Johnstown; also
  13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  Also survived by aunt, Rose
  Nicholson, Friedens.  Retired baker from Cookie Jar Bakery, Johnstown. 
  Veteran of World War II.  Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and from
  2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where service
  will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. David A. Gray officiating. 
  Interment, Friedens Cemetery.
