    John Elwood Beal, 47, Meyersdale, died March 24, in Altoona VA
  Hospital.  Born Nov. 22, 1919, on Meyersdale RD, he was a son of C. Rollo
  and Nora (Smearman) Beal.
    Surviving are his mother, Meyersdale; and three children.  He was a
  brother of Mrs. Florence Horchner, Grantsville; Mrs. Bernice Miller, Mrs.
  Marian Staub and Mrs. Ruth Klinge, all of Meyersdale; Mrs. Betty Raupach,
  Glencoe; Mrs. Peggy Moser and William, both of Baltimore; Mrs. Donna Foy,
  Garrett; Emerson, Windber; Ernest, Fall River, Mass.; and Staff Sergeant
  Robert, in Germany.
    He was a veteran of World War II.
    Funeral service was held at Price Funeral Home on Monday afternoon, with
  the Rev. Robert Hoffman officiating.  Interment was made in the Reformed
  Cemetery, Meyersdale.
