  MERLE KATHERINE BEAL
  
    Merle Katherine Beal, 70, of 12006 McMullen Highway, died Saturday, Dec.
  27, 1986, in the Cumberland Nursing Home, where she had resided for 18
  months.  She had been in ill health for several years.
    Born in Green Spring, W. Va., on Oct. 24, 1916, she was the daughter of
  Walter Glaze, Green Spring, and the late Anna (Davy) Glaze.  She was also
  preceded in death by her husband, George William Beal, in 1968.  She was a
  member of LaVale Baptist Church.
    Besides her father, she is survived by one daughter, Miss Meltina Ann
  "Tina" Beal, with whom she resided; four brothers:  Walter Glaze Jr., Las
  Vegas, Nev.; Richard Glaze and John Glaze, both of Green Spring, W. Va.;
  Marvin Glaze, Cumberland, Md.; six sisters:  Mrs. Ruby Gilpin; Mrs. Gladys
  Powers and Mrs. Linda Riggleman, all of Cumberland, Md.; Mrs. Beatrice
  Whitacre, Fort Ashby, W. Va.; Mrs. Eva Sebold, Green Spring,; and Mrs.
  Ethel Swan of Florida.
    Friends were received at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence where
  services were conducted Monday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Doug Strother, pastor
  of LaVale Baptist Church.  Interment, Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
