BEAL Mrs. Nancy Catherine (Inks) Beal, second wife of Charles H. Beal, late of Salisbury, died March 13, 1943, at Oil City, Pa., at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 24 days. She was born and reared in Garrett County, Md., but located in Salisbury, Pa., when still a young woman. Her death was caused by a faulty heart condition. Her husband preceded her in death, Nov. 4, 1923. Mrs. Beal was a daughter of George F. and Elizabeth (McCartney) Inks, and is survived by these children: Mary Alice, wife of Hubert Waterson of Pittsburgh; Lula, wife of Marshall Rigal; Marian, wife of Clarence Arthurs, and George E., all of Oil City; Emerson H. of Spartansburg, Pa. She is also survived by two stepsons, James N. Beal of Pittsburgh, and Charles O. Beal of Colver, Pa., and by one sister, Alice, wife of Rev. William H. Penn, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin. Mrs. Beal's body arrived in Salisbury where she long had resided, and was taken to the Methodist Church, of which she was a faithful member, and was the last surviving charter member of the Salisbury congregation. There it reposed in state where it could be viewed by the many friends of Mrs. Beal who still reside here, until it was about time for the funeral services, which were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. B. Warman, at 3:00 p.m. All of her children, step-children and "in-laws" were present, except the oldest daughter, Mary Alice, and her husband, Hubert Waterson. The floral tributes were beautiful, and interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, under the direction of Stanley M. Thomas, local mortician. Meyersdale Republican, March 18, 1943
