BEALS Roy Benjamin Beals, 85, of 1315 Neshannock Blvd, died in his home at 5 p.m. yesterday. He was born in Meyersdale, Pa., Jan. 6, 1879, to Jonathan and Melinda Baker Beals. He married Margaret McIndoe Oct. 17, 1906. Mr. Beals had spent his early working life with Carnegie Steel Corp. and later operated a grocery store, for 26 years. He retired in 1949. He was a member of Clen-Moore United Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife; two sons, John E. Beals and Ralph H. Beals, both of New Castle; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Elsie) McCullough and Mrs. William (Gladys) Hegedus, both of New Castle; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Beachey of McKeesport, Pa., and Mrs. Bess Bowser of Meyersdale, Pa.; a brother, Charles Beals of McKeesport; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers. A service will be held in Leyde-Tanner Mortuary, Highland at Winter Ave., at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. William J. Turner Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Oak Park Cemetery. Friends will be received in the mortuary from 7 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow. clipping dated May 10, 1964 [B0843]
