Beam, 95, Jennerstown, died July 29, 1977, at Somerset Community Hospital. He was born January 20, 1882, in Jenner Township, Somerset County, son of Henry and Rebecca (Baldwin) Beam. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, the former Cora Wiand who died in 1940, and second wife, the former Bessie Mae Steck, who died in 1968. He was also preceded in death by a brother Morton and these sisters; Della Ressler, Mrs. Alice Tosh, Mrs. Carrie Miller Gohn, Mrs. Sarah Griffith, and Mrs. Elsie Barnett; a great grandson, Joel Bradley Hay. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Catharine Trible Georg, Jennerstown; two step-children, Francis Steck and Mrs. Vanessa Mason; three grandchildren; William A. Trible, Florida, Mary Lou, wife of James Thomas, Silver Springs, Md., Janet Lee, wife of James Ray, Jennerstown; eight great grandchildren. He was a member of Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, Jennerstown. He is the last of the Abraham-Hiram-Henry-Beam ancestors of the Beam family tree, near the Beam Church. He helped build the town of Boswell working there during the years 1900-1902. In 1910, he went into farming and dairying near Boswell. He sold milk retaining in Boswell for 15 years. He was one of the original directors of the Peoples State Bank, Jennerstown. At his death, he was a director emeritus [sic]. He also served 20 years on the Jenner Township School Board. In his later years, he worked at Camp Sequanota, retiring three years ago. He also served on the Church Council at St. Andrews, Boswell, and Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Jenner Township. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny Street, Boswell, where funeral service will b held at 2 a.m. Monday, the Rev.
