Born Aug. 8, 1919 in Somerset, the son of Russell Sipe and Nancy Ellen (Cramer) Beam. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Dorothy Mae Walker, who died Nov. 17, 1994; brothers George Edward Beam, Earl Richard Alman and Mesheck Beam; sisters Lillian Smith, Alice Shaulis and Sara Walters. Survived by children: Mrs. Francis (Mary Ann) Tucker of Philadelphia; Russell Gary Beam, married to the former Sandy Shaulis of Somerset; Roger Allen Beam, married to the former Kathy Russell of Somerset; Richard Lee Beam, married to the former Paula Baker of Somerset. Also survived by seven grandchildren: Ms. Jean Barker, Mrs. Kathy Miller; Russell Gary Beam Jr.; Mrs.Donald (Kristi) Hixon, Mrs. Robert (Michelle) Moorecroft, Miss Hope Ann Beam and Nathan Lee Beam. Three step-grandchildren, Vicki Galloway, Traci Alexander and Dale McKinley; six great grandchildren, Dennis Barker, Jamie and Rodney Miller, Tyler and Ryan Moorecroft and Adam Hixon; three step-great grandchildren, Sofia Alexander, Brandy and Connor McKinley. Brother of Jerry Beam and wife Joyce of Somerset; Charles B. Beam and wife Ruth of Baltimore, Md. Member of the Bethany United Methodist Church, World War II Veteran U.S. Army, 1938 graduate of Milton Hershey Industrial School. Coal Miner for Saxman Coal from 1943-1948, Crane Oiler for Operating Engineer Local No. 66 from 1948-1973. Surface Coal Mine Inspector for U.S. Bureau of Mines from 1973 until retiring in 1984. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday at the Bethany United Methodist Church, Somerset, with the Rev.
