(Bebe) 08/12/06 Daily American Elizabeth S. "Bebe" Beamer, 86, Broad Street, Bedford, died Aug. 11, 2006, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born July 18, 1920, in Meyersdale, the daughter of the late Fulton N. and Katheryn (Leonard) Shipley. On Sept. 19, 1949, in Meyersdale she married Henry J. Beamer and he pre-ceded her in death on April 18, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a sister Katheryn Walker and a brother Thomas Shipley. She is survived by four children: Mary Katheryn Bryan, Lenexa, Kan.; H. John Beamer, Bedford; Elizabeth Ann, wife of Thomas P. Warner, Lancaster; Martha Lee Beamer, Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Beamer was a member of Bedford Trinity Lutheran Church. She was active with the Pa. Maple Festival in Meyersdale and was involved with the Girl Scouts in Meyersdale, was a member of the Bedford Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed playing bridge. She was a 1942 graduate of Chatam College in Pittsburgh and she taught school in Meyersdale until the end of World War II. After that she substituted until moving to Bedford in 1976. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Bedford Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Raymond E. Short officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery in Meyersdale.
