Bean, 50, of Sipesville died March 21, 1974, in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Lebanon County, a son of the late William J. Bean. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ellen Martin Bean of Bunker Hill RD 3, Lebanon. Also survived by his wife, the former Mildred Zigler; and these children: Lois Ann, Sandra Lou, Fred Craig, and Althea Mae, all home; and these sisters and brother: Mrs. Walter (Rosa) Bernheisel, Mrs. Irwin (Rebecca) Kline, and Mrs. Herman (Violet) Pierce, all of Lebanon RD 3; Mrs. Earl (Anna) Troup, Conestoga RD 2; Mrs. Burton (Ester) Lange, Waynesboro; and Charles M. of Berrysburg. He was a minister of Sipesville Church of the Brethren for the past five years. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Friday in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Sipesville Church of the Brethren with the Rev. John D. Ellis officiating. Remains will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. Saturday until service time. Further services will be conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Palmyra Church of the Brethren, Palmyra, with the Rev. Donald Rummel officiating. Interment, Bunker Hill E.C. Cemetery, Bunker Hill, Pa. Friends will be received at the Rothermel Funeral Home in Palmyra from 7-9 p.m. Sunday.
